The idea is to find fun ways to get a minimum of 30 Minutes of exercise a day!
Warm-Up Activity (3-5 minutes) – Any activity that will raise your heart rate. Some ideas are below, but please feel free to be creative!
- Jog/Jump in Place
- Dance
- Jog Around the Yard
- 5 Minute Warm-Up
Stretch – Hold each stretch for a 20 count.
- Legs straight out
- One leg in
- Other leg in
- Butterfly (Nose to Toes)
- ABC Push-ups
- Plank (Elbows or Hands)
Activity – Any vigorous activity that will really get your heart pumping! Challenge yourself to increase your intensity/personal record on a day to day basis.
- Run “x amount” of laps around the yard in 5 minutes
- Jump Rope (Invisible or makeshift)
- Play tag
- Play a sport
- Ride a bike (Safety First)
Skill Challenge -
- Toss Clap Catch - (Outdoors Recommended) Using a ball of your choice, toss it into the air and see how many times you can clap before you catch it again. - Start with 1 clap and and work your way up to as many claps as you can.
- Plank Challenge - Using a timer, how long can you hold a plank? Can you beat your family members?
- Standing Long Jump - Using a measuring device, mark off distance and try to beat your best jump! Example
