FINE MOTOR SKILLS 
The use of smaller muscles of the hands used in actively like using pencils, scissors, buttons, shoe lace tying and opening containers.  
 
VISUAL MOTOR SKILLS
Involve the coordination between the eyes and the hand
 
 
 
If you have clothespins at home (colored or not!) use cardboard to create wheels to work on letters, numbers, colors, sight words/ cvc words. Tell your child to put a clothes pin on the number/letter/word you request. Make sure they are using their thumb, index and middle finger to "pinch" or open the clothes pin.

In-Hand Manipulation Skillsthe ability to move objects within one hand without the help of the         other hand. We need manipulation skills to hold and manipulate puzzle pieces, write and cut with scissors. 
   
  • Translation: movement of the object or objects from the palm to the fingers or the fingers to the palm.
  • Shift: movement of an object on the finger surface to allow repositioning of the object on the pads of the fingers.
