Mrs. Gaquer Loves First Grade

Dear Parents and Guardians,

   Hello!  My name is Susan Gaquer, and I am very excited to be your child’s first grade teacher.  There is always an incredible amount of growth that occurs from September to June in first grade.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce your children to the many reading, writing, and math skills that will carry them throughout the years!

   My goal is to engage the children in the learning process by appealing to each student’s learning style.   During this school year, the children will have many opportunities to engage in hands on Language Arts, Writing,  Math, Science, and Social Studies activities.  They will also have a chance to work independently and cooperatively in small groups in order to complete the many exciting activities in all of our subject areas.

   I am looking forward to working with you in making this a happy and rewarding school year for you and your child. I encourage you to become involved in your child’s first grade experience.  We, as a team, will guide the children to become independent readers, thinkers, and problem solvers.  I’m so happy to have your students in my class!
